In Chapter 1, the thing that I will remember most is the page(s) about the Plate Tectonics. What I learned is that Plate Tectonics is an idea used by geologists to describe how land and landforms such as mountains, hills, plateau, and others, are created and positioned throughout the world. Geologists divide the Earth into four major layers. The outer layer, and the one we live on, is the crust. Beneath the crust is the mantle, below the mantle is the outer core, and finally at the center of the Earth is the inner core.

In Chapter 2, the thing that I will remember most is the types of climates in Washington state. What I learned is that there are three distinct climates we have. The first, found in the lowland areas, is called West Coast Marine. The second climate, east of the Cascade Mountains, called Semiarid. The third climate is called the Highlands, found in elevations exceeding 3,000 feet.

In Chapter 3, the thing that I will remember most is the difference between the Coastal Indians and the Plateau Indians. One of the many differences were that the Coastal Indians lived west of the Cascade Mountains and the Plateau Indians lived in Eastern Washington. One of the similaritys between the two tribes were that they both had Shamans, or medical men. Shaman worked with the spirits to try and cure the sick.
